What is a good life?

How to define good when it comes to matter of life?

No doubt, we are long to live a good life for our whole life,

but, we just not sure whether we are living a good life or a

miserable life.

Many times, we try to look at positive side, try to do good, try

to be a better person, but somehow, the people around just

failed us.

The hypocrites, insults, hatred, jealousy, insecurity, close-

hearted, inconsiderate, no mercy and many more,

the weaknesses of mankind just simply have failed us.

Under these circumstances, are we going to give up on

doing good and being real, losing the simple and pure heart

which we have been safeguarded since our childhood time?

The answer is definitely NO!

If we give up, we indirectly add more troubles to the people

who are trying to do good and want to be a better person. in

other word, we became the problem instead of solution.

Despite that, we should continue to do good, to be a better

person, to be the solution of the problems in this world

today.

We should not be overcame by evil but overcome evil with good. What does it mean?

It’s to live a life of Love, Honesty, Appreciation, Kindness

and Strength. Sprinkled with a little Silliness.

Triple Filter : Think before Speak

In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, “Do you know what I just heard about your friend?”

“Hold on a minute,” Socrates replied. “Before telling me anything I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Triple Filter Test.”

“Triple filter?”

“That’s right,” Socrates continued. “Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say. That’s why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?”

“No,” the man said, “Actually I just heard about it and …”

“All right,” said Socrates. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?”

“No, on the contrary…”

“So,” Socrates continued, “you want to tell me something bad about him, but you’re not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though, because there’s one filter left: the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?”

“No, not really …”

“Well,” concluded Socrates, “if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?”

 # It could be true that we need to filter our thought before it turns into words, which it could never be taken back if someone is hurt by the words. Hence, we should think twice and always speak the word which may edify others.

Dream a dream to change the world, and put it into efforts.

Dream is never too big to dream, it’s just that how big you dare to dream.

It’s the dream and goal which we can enjoy the advancement and comfort in this world.

It’s the dream and goal which we can see numerous miracles and impossible things become possible.

It’s the dream and goal which light up the world colourfully.

And, we are never too old to dream and set target.

No matter how big is your dream, please take the courage to dream, and together we can light up the world!

Story of Shila Ghosh

In the image above is Shila Ghosh, an 83-year-old woman who lives in Pali in West Bengal, a state in the eastern region of India and is the nation’s fourth-most populous.

Her only son had heart ailment and passed away a few months ago. To make ends meet, Shila now works. Every evening, Shila comes from Pali to Kolkata to sell chips.

When asked if she has a problem in travelling, she weakly smiled and said: “No, the bus gets me here and my health is not that bad”.

Circumstances could have easily forced her to beg but her dignity and respect is everything for her, she is determined to work until the end of her life rather than to beg on the streets.

When we go on complaining, let us remember her….. she chose to solve her problems on her own for as they say God helps them those who help themselves.

Don’t worry, Shila is being helped. Although she refuses donations and prefers to make her own living, many people found ways to help without making her feel dependent on anyone i.e. purchase more chips from her… some are also helping her to build a kiosk.

Have you ever wonder how to change the world?

Are you happy to dwell in the pattern of this world?

Sincerely, I dislike the pattern of this world.

I prefer mutualism than individualism.

I prefer open-minded than narrow-minded.

I prefer sincerity than pretence.

I prefer simple heart than impure heart.

I prefer truth than lies.

I prefer honest than shrewd.

I prefer kind than cruel.

I prefer good than evil.

I prefer optimistic than pessimistic.

I prefer love than hatred.

and I believe LOVE is the solution to solve and change the pattern of this world.

How?

Firstly, we ourselves need to have love inside our heart.

Then only we can instil the love among the people around us, gradually impact on them and they will choose to love eventually.

Though we may get discouraged during the way of instilling the love, we gotta persevere and keep on sowing the seed of love among the people around us, because you never know one day the seed of love in them will grow more abundant and impact more people than you.

Just imagine, if you start to sow the seed of love to a person, then the person sow the seed to another person, and the process continue on and the effect will be amazingly powerful.

How wonderful it is if the world is filled with love?

Hence, start from today, sow the seed of love to your friends or family members and consistently water them, you shall see the abundance and  fruitfulness in your life, and the pattern of this world will be changed eventually.
